Relationships
When I think of a relationship my mind doesn't immediately switch to romance, first I stumble over the relationships people have with family, then friends, and somewhere along the road romance takes it's toll. When I was little I never understood romance as I suppose not many kids do but even growing up I never understood the point. The only romantic relationship I could comprehend was my parents and after their divorce I never understood the point because I figured no one stayed together. Though, after I got a little older and became more in tune with other relationships of the people around me and I began to understand a little more. One thing that stands out to me when seeing all these people in different kinds of relationships are the things that really matter to people. I will never understand the people, such a Petruchio, that only care about the things they will get out of it and not about the person themselves. I believe that anyone who wished to be in a romantic relationship should be in it for the "right" reasons and I do understand those may differ between people. That being said, I think that if more people thought of relationships in the same way more people would be happy and stay together.

I like how you talk about relationships being not just romantic. There are also relationships with family, friends, and even strangers. Also, I agree that people should be in relationships for the right reasons.
ReplyDeleteI too felt as though all relationships were somewhat “doomed” for a while when my parents first broke up. I love your ideas about relationships and how it doesn’t necessarily mean in a romantic way. I think that the most important relationships aren’t actually the romantic side but more of one person to another. Love you em :)
